Asset Tracking

For any organization, tracking assets is a mandatory requirement and important.  For police and military, since weapons, munitions and IT assets with sensitive information are commonplace, asset management is even more important.  Most police departments are required to inventory all assets issued to officers and/or within facilities at least once annually.

ARMS software keeps a computerized registry of all assets and parts utilized to maintain assets.  ARMS also keeps track of asset inspection schedules, maintenance agreements, and similar duty cycles and the results of any asset inspection or maintenance event  Robust custom and standard reports are available for effective management and reporting of tools and events related to the usage and maintenance of tools.

ARMS software also enables staff to Reserve, Request and Transfer Custody of assets.  Every time an asset is removed, returned or maintained saves a data record to audit trail chain-of-custody module in the ARMS software.  ARMS also automatically emails ‘overdue notices’ if temporarily assigned assets have been in usage for longer than business rules specify as time-allowed-out.

ARMS includes a batch tracking screen that enables rapid check-in, checkout and asset status updates.  Assets can be tagged with bar codes and/or RFID to streamline and speed asset storage room operations.  Assets can be issued, assigned or checked in or out using bar code or RFID USB scanner, or, by placing RFID antennas at storage room exit points.  If staff have RFID on their ID card and/or key fob, or sewn into uniforms, then custody of assets automatically transfers to the person that removed asset(s) from storage.

If tools approach an asset storage room crib exit in an unauthorized or unexpected manner, ARMS can trigger alarms, flashing lights and security alerts.

Portable bar code or RFID scanner can be utilized to rapidly inventory assets in police vehicles, assigned to police or military personnel or within an organization’s interior and exterior facilities.
